Regulations.

Building automation is no longer just an upgrade: in many cases it is mandatory.

RITE (Spain)

Non-residential buildings with more than 290 kW of heating and cooling capacity must have building automation and control systems, where technically and economically feasible.

Directive (EU) 2024/1275

Extends this requirement to non-residential buildings above 70 kW before 2030, including automatic lighting control. Spain is incorporating it into national law.

EN ISO 52120-1

Rates a building’s automation from class A, high efficiency, to class D, no automation.
